L’Oréal Paris Infallible Gel Effect Nail Polish Review

The first time I saw the  L’Oréal Paris Infallible Gel Effect Nail Polish at my local beauty store, I was immediately drawn to the sleek packaging. My first thought was, “Ooh, that will look so pretty on my vanity table…” And of course I was intrigued about the nail polish itself. The store did not have testers to try a few swatches but I knew I had to try them out for myself after watching Tom Bachik (celebrity manicurist to Selena Gomez and J.Lo) use them on Instagram I think. So I purchased it from my favourite online beauty website in India – Nykaa.com

On the L’Oreal Paris website, it was originally available in 13 shades or maybe more, but only 4 shades are available in India – Red, Pink, Violet and a Teal Blue. I got all 4 at a good discount from the website, but they retail for 499 INR. Check out similar shades on my Swatch Wall.

Two 5 ml polish bottles pop out from the mid holder. One is the “STEP 1” nail colour and the other bottle is the “STEP 2” accompanying top coat. It claims to last for up to 14 days, but after testing out almost each shade for a week, there was some slight chipping after 5-6 days. But let’s agree that this is totally subjective and depends on the way it was applied, your nail growth rate, if you wash dishes with your bare hands, etc., etc… All in all, these are actually pretty good polishes.

Now, this is not a gel nail polish. It is a gel-effect nail polish. It basically means that it would be able to give you the same high shine lacquer like finish and hardness similar to actual gel nail polish, minus the UV/LED light curing contraptions which I will talk about in another post.
